Thank you for asking about this question. We understand that there is some confusion about sanctions imposed by the U.S. government on companies doing business with Iran in light of recent warmer relations between the two countries.
The agreement between Iran and many other countries included a significant lifting of sanctions.
However, they only included those sanctions broadly imposed by all of those countries. Sanctions imposed by individual countries must be lifted by those countries themselves.
While the United States did lift several sanctions, it maintains a broad regime of sanctions that have not been lifted. Unfortunately, sanctions that apply to cPanel were not lifted.
These sanctions are imposed on Iran pursuant to the Iranian Transactions and Sanctions Regulations (ISTR) section 560.204.
To help you understand this matter better, you may want to review the link below. This link contains information that explains which sanctions have been lifted, and which have not. As applied to cPanel, please review paragraphs A.3.(i); A.5; G.3; and M.9.
We understand that you are concerned about this issue. However, we are required to comply with laws that continue to restrict us from doing business in Iran.
